Time Flies!

share
August went by so fast that I cannot even remember the beginning or the end of it!
On the photography scene a lot has happened: Nikon released the D90 which seems on paper to be a benchmark camera again (like the D70 when it was released). Canon announced the 50D replacing the 40D exactly one year after the announcement of the 40D! Seems like the turnaround cycle for new models is getting shorter and shorter. Panasonic and Olympus jointly announced the development of the Micro Four Thirds standard which will basically utilize the same four third sensor but without the DLSR viewfinder. This will allow for a much smaller body, and smaller sized lenses which ultimately will result in smaller cameras. Personally I think this is likely to be the most important announcement for 2008 as it is going to redefine the role of the DSLR as well is the compact camera. (read the full press release here)

Looking at this and the other important news and press releases that took place the past month, I guess that I do remember the past month - its just that I did not make enough time for my blog and myself!

Maybe the photo I took as a demonstration during a lecture I gave in 2006 about long exposure photography is appropriate. I called this photo Time Files!
