Sometime you take a photo with something specific in mind but once viewed on the computer screen it just does not look like the photo you had in mind.
The Bicycle is such a photo. I took it in Cambridge at about 09:00 on a normal weekday morning. In order to eliminate the traffic from the photo I decided to take the photo with an infrared filter to get a very long exposure. Unfortunately the angle of the light resulted in a huge flare in the photo.
After examining the photo I decide to change the flare into a ray of sunlight to emphasize the bicycle. The end result is quite pleasing.
